Job Description
Mission:
South Bronx Classical Charter School prepares K-8th grade students in the South Bronx to excel in college-preparatory high schools. Through a classical curriculum and highly structured setting, students become liberated scholars and citizens of impeccable character who achieve proficiency in and advanced mastery of New York State Performance Standards.
Characteristics of a South Bronx Classical Lesson Planner:
South Bronx Classical Charter School is currently seeking a Curriculum Planner who will create lesson plans for our standards-based, backwards-designed, rigorous 6th grade curriculum. We are seeking Curriculum Planners for Science, Social Studies, Latin, and Mathematics, and English Language Arts. Eligible candidates must be able to design lesson plans that are aligned to South Bronx Classical rigorous unit plans. Additionally, planners must create class activities that meet the daily objectives, engage scholars in high-level critical thinking, and emphasize literacy development across all content areas. Qualified candidates must have a strong record of raising scholar achievement at the elementary or middle school level, have experience developing rigorous lesson plans, and are familiar with Common Core Standards.
