About Art In Motion:
Art In Motion (AIM) is a vibrant creative arts, charter, middle and high school dedicated to nurturing creativity, leadership, and excellence in every student. We’re seeking a strategic, mission-driven leader to join our team as Director of Business Affairs & Compliance.
About the Role:
The Director of Business Affairs & Compliance oversees the financial health, operational systems, and compliance obligations of Art In Motion. This senior-level role is perfect for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys cross-functional collaboration, and wants to help build the future of public education in Chicago.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead budgeting, financial reporting, audits, and vendor management
- Oversee school-wide compliance with CPS, state, and federal regulations
- Manage payroll, benefits, and financial systems
- Collaborate with school leadership to align operations with student success
- Represent AIM in board meetings and external audits
What You Bring:
- 8+ years of experience in school operations or nonprofit/business leadership
- Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Education Leadership, or related field
- Strong knowledge of charter school compliance (CPS/Illinois Charter Law preferred)
- Excellent communication, financial acumen, and strategic thinking skills
