Job Description
The USI EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR plays a pivotal role in leading and advancing our mission of educational excellence and equity. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the network’s operations, ensuring strategic growth, financial sustainability, and academic achievement across all schools.
JOB DESCRIPTION Knowledge of instructional practices, elements of effective instruction, strategic planning, network level systems and developing a professional community of learners. Experience in school administration, working with teachers and other leaders on instructional issues, program evaluation, integration of literacy and implementation of standards-based curriculum.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leadership and Strategic Vision:
- Provide visionary leadership to articulate and implement the network’s strategic goals and objectives.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement among staff, teachers, students, and families.
- Operational Management:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the network, including budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and maintain effective relationships with authorizers and stakeholders.
- Educational Excellence:
- Promote a culture of academic excellence and equity across all schools.
- Support the professional development of instructional leaders and teachers to enhance teaching practices and student outcomes.
- Community Engagement and Partnerships:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with parents, community members, and external partners.
- Serve as the network’s spokesperson and advocate in the community, promoting the network’s mission and impact.
- Board Relations and Governance:
- Work closely with the Board of Directors to develop strategic direction and policies.
- Provide regular updates and reports to the Board on network performance, financial health, and key initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 5 years of school leadership, preferably in a charter school environment or a similar educational setting
- Strong understanding of finance management and education policy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire stakeholders.
- Advanced degree in education, business administration, or a related field.
- Commitment to educational equity and improving outcomes for all students.
