Job Description
Hamilton County Schools, located in Chattanooga, TN, seeks a detail-oriented and innovative thought partner to be part of our Human Resources and Talent team! As the License and Undergraduate Pipelines Manager, you will create an atmosphere of outstanding customer service for employees and candidates navigating the licensure process while ensuring compliance. Additionally, you oversee student teacher placement and will work cross functionally with our talent management and induction/performance management teams to develop procedures and processes for placement while ensuring equity in placements and identification of student teacher mentors.
The ideal candidate for this position has a minimum of 4-5 years of teaching experience or higher education experience and has a deep understanding of teaching and learning. This individual must thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy developing processes and procedures.
Teacher Licensure:
- Oversees compliance regarding licensure for Hamilton County teachers
- Works across the HR organization to cross train individuals regarding teacher licensure
- Coordinates with the TN Department of Education to stay abreast of new policies and procedures related to licensure
- Distills pertinent information regarding licensure for internal and external communication channels, including talent website
- Monitors licensure expiration dates of all license types to ensure compliance and notify educators accordingly
- Applies for waivers or permits and tracks progress of waiver requirements for teachers
- Ensures integrity of licensure reporting
Tenure:
- Tracks tenure eligibility for new teachers and returning (formerly tenured) teachers
- Sends out tenure contracts after the Board approves tenure recommendations
External Partnerships/Student Teachers:
- Collaborates with Coordinator of Strategic Partnerships regarding talent pipelines with Education Preparation Providers that are aligned with HCS’s mission critical strategies for teacher recruitment, diversity and equity
- Manages state-recognized primary partnerships and additional partnerships; organizes and updates MOUs with universities
- Coordinates with leadership and development team to select and manage CIMs (Clinical Instructor Mentors); assists with leading CIM trainings
- Develops and maintains policies for field and clinical experience; works collaboratively with universities and schools to place student teachers for upcoming years
- Identifies top talent and coordinates recruitment with Talent Acquisition team
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree, required. Master’s Degree, preferred.
- Five years minimum experience in teaching, instructional coaching, school administrative experience, and/or higher education.
