Continuing and Professional Education (CPE) drives strategic expansion of the university’s unique approach and mission through year-round academic programs for learners of all ages and phases of their educational journey. CPE serves over 15,000 students directly and via partnerships – on its Greenwich Village campus, in global centers, via hybrid and remote delivery – with noncredit and noncredit courses, certificates, degree and academic partnerships, workshops, and intensives
Management and Support
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Business Strategy and Planning, the Senior Manager, Strategic Project Management will serve as a hub of CPE-wide activities, working closely with CPE and university leadership, program and operations directors, marketing and enrollment, colleagues in Finance, Marketing & Communications, and the Provost Office, external partners, and a broad range of stakeholders who support CPE’s strategic growth. This role will learn, design, and iterate project management practices and systems across the CPE portfolio to maintain program success, strengthen team communications, and provide input to the unit’s business and academic strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Project Management
In collaboration with CPE project and program managers, drive and support project plan development and timelines across CPE and recommend efficient solutions
Maintain and support the design and customization of CPE-wide project management and organizational systems, including Monday.com and Salesforce
In collaboration with CPE leadership, set and evaluate guiding principles, KPIs, metrics, prioritization, and program goals
Support budgeting, resource allocation, financial planning, and projections
Stakeholder Management
Liaise between internal CPE teams, university stakeholders, and vendors and partners on project and program timelines, progress, performance, and key questions
Set and adjust expectations based on progress, risks, and stakeholder feedback
Contribute to the development and delivery of high level presentations to leadership on project status, goals, and impacts
Facilitate team meetings, team communication, and prioritization of resources
Operations & Strategy Support
Centralize and support CPE operations support including vendor agreements, independent contractors, record governance, and coordination with CPE and university systems
Contribute to and coordinate research on a variety of new initiatives and business strategies, providing direction and focus, as directed
MINUMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor’s degree
Experience
3-5 years of professional experience in project management, education, technology, media, strategic planning, data analysis, and/or communications
Proven ability to and comfort with independently developing and maintaining:
Structured project plans and goals to communicate and deliver on milestones
Financial reports and analyses for tracking and decision-making
Business models to conceive and guide new, growing, and existing activities
Confidential and sensitive communications and materials
Systems to document, track, and appropriately share the above
Demonstrated ability and experience collaborating and coordinating with others in a complex, remote & hybrid, multi-team, multi-office environment
Skills and Mission
Comfort with iterating, adjusting, and making recommendations based on limited or ambiguous information
Demonstrated knowledge of and/or ability to quickly learn Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Workday, Monday.com, Salesforce, and other financial, data, reporting, customer relationship management, and project management systems
Excellent and proactive verbal and written communication skills
Professional and intellectual curiosity; flexibility and creativity; self-directed and collaborative mindset
Demonstrated interest in The New School and its mission, higher education services and strategy, data analysis, and/or project management
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in a relevant area (e.g., business, management, education, communications)
Demonstrated experience in relevant fields and functions (e.g., business consulting, project management, K-12 or higher education, technology, entrepreneurial or start-up operations, publishing, media management)
WORK MODE
Hybrid/Remote – Employees hired for this position primarily work remotely with the occasional on-campus presence required with advanced notice. Employees in this role will also be expected to use their best judgment to be on campus when necessary in order to best fulfill the responsibilities of their job descriptions.
SALARY RANGE
$70,000 – $80,000
