Middle School Science Teacher – Interim Contract

Description:
This middle school, full-time includes teaching four multi-age (grades 7-8) science classes in a modified block schedule, Monday – Friday. This position also involves Community/Advisory instruction which includes service learning, independent projects and social/emotional curriculum. This position is an interim position for the 2018-19 school year and benefit-eligible.
Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver middle level science lessons according to Colorado State Standards, perform and analyze assessments, supervise students, communicate with parents, participate in professional development, participate in middle school team and whole faculty meetings/leadership, implement Multi-Systems of Support (MTSS) and special education/504 plans, build strong family and community partnerships, organization of special programing such as outdoor education, winter sports, service learning and performance-based learning.
Qualifications:
Colorado Teaching License required; must be highly qualified in Secondary Science. Experience with multi-age and middle school teaching preferred.
Required Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; high level of comfort with differentiation and inclusive practices, cooperative learning, hands-on learning, inquiry-based learning, and performance based or alternative assessments; experience with and desire to support social-emotional development in adolescents also preferred. Experience with technology-integrated teaching is highly desired
