Job Description
Salary Update
For the 2022-2023 school year, Rocky Mountain Prep has increased its salary for Lead Teachers.
This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position with a salary range of $61,000 – $85,000. Salary is dependent on the number of years you’ve been teaching. Years count as full years spent Lead Teaching in American public K-12 schools and public Pre-K programs.

During the 2022-2023 school year, RMP is driving after five big goals:
- Kindergarten through 2nd-grade students will grow, on average, 1.25 years in math and reading. Pre-K students will grow on average 1 year.
- 50% of 3rd to 5th grade students will read a million words.
- 3rd grade through 5th grade students taking CMAS will score an average of 45 % on track for the next grade level with 10% scoring exceeds expectations.
- At least 90% of students who start at RMP, stay at RMP.
- Teacher retention will be at least 85%.
Each member of the organization plays a part in achieving these goals. School-based staff members will work towards 2 or 3 metrics that are aligned to both their individual roles AND the Big 5. These metrics vary by position and are subject to change. As a Math Interventionist, you will be held accountable for some of these goals. About the Role
Interventionists should be prepared to work with students in grades K-5 who require additional support to meet their academic, social, and emotional needs and achieve grade-level proficiency. They will primarily focus on math intervention and may provide science intervention and extension if needed.
In this role, you will…
- Teach daily Tier II and Tier III math interventions in individual and small group settings, providing instruction based on scholar needs using the Bridges Math Intervention curriculum
- Progress monitor student data, document progress, and enter data into a centralized data management system
- Analyze scholar data and use it to set individual goals, create intervention groups and instructional plans, and adjust instruction Collaborate with general education teachers, special education teachers, service providers, school leaders, students, and families to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of each learner
- Participate in MTSS and GT meetings for students requiring additional support
- Provide services for students who are designated as gifted in mathematics 1x/week after school during our staff professional development block
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required
- 3 years of full-time K-5 lead teaching experience that involves math instruction (ex. homeroom teacher, literacy teacher, interventionist, or special education teacher)
- Demonstrated understanding of what proficiency and rigor in the Common Core State Standards at each grade-level looks like, how the standards are vertically aligned, and how standards will be assessed on Colorado state tests
- During the application process, you will need to provide student data demonstrating that you have led students to 1.5 years of math growth in a single school year, high levels of mastery on state tests or standards-based assessments such as STAR or CMAS, and/or helped 90% or more of students on your special education caseload master math IEP goals
- Be able to provide an official transcript demonstrating graduation from an undergraduate institution
- Provide evidence of passing the Praxis 5001 exam or CO teaching license
- Pass a background check & demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States
Preferred
- Experience implementing a math intervention program with fidelity (e.g. Bridges Intervention)Experience implementing a math curriculum or program with a strong conceptual basis and student-driven approach, such as Bridges, TERC Investigations, Cognitively Guided Instruction, etc.
- An advanced degree in mathematics education
- Experience with tiered instruction as a dedicated math interventionist in an elementary school
- Special Education endorsement and/or CLDE endorsement on an active CO teaching license
- Completion of CDE Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) 45 contact hours
- Experience working with linguistically and culturally diverse students and familiesBilingual English & Spanish or English & Arabic
