Teacher Spanish Teacher
Job Description
Basalt High School seeks a full-time Spanish teacher, starting in the fall of 2022.
The successful candidate will have a strong academic record. The ability to teach AP level classes is desirable. More important is having a passion for teaching freshmen. We do not see teaching as a popularity contest but we accept that only teachers who are able to connect powerfully with students, who can engage them and be persistently, non-possessively warm, are fitted for this work.
Teaching is not a one-person performance. Commitment to collaboration with colleagues is essential. We are persuaded by Ron Edmonds, who said in the mid-1970s: “We can, whenever and wherever we choose, successfully teach all children whose schooling is of interest to us. We already know more than we need to do this. Whether we do it or not must finally depend on how we feel about the fact that we have not done it so far.”
Pay Range
$50,000 to 71,895 **Based on education and years of experience
**Annual salary noted above is based on an 8 hour day (FTE 1) and full days worked calendar. Any position that is less than a full FTE/8 hours per day or late start will be prorated accordingly.
