Lincoln Elementary, a small public Montessori school in Denver, seeks a Montessori credentialed Lower Elementary guide (1st – 3rd) beginning in the 2024-25 school year.

Located in Denver’s historic West Washington Park neighborhood, Lincoln Elementary is a diverse neighborhood school of 320 students ranging from preschool through sixth grade. Our community is defined by strong relationships and shared values that prioritize the highest good for our students, educators, and families. As one of only four public Montessori schools in Denver, our unique model houses both a Montessori and a Traditional program under the same administration. Who You Are:
As a guide, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that fosters the holistic development of children aged 6 to 9 years old. The ideal candidate will:
- Cultivate a safe, inclusive, joyful, and enriching learning environment
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Montessori principles and methodologies
- Utilize the Montessori curriculum to encourage independence, critical thinking, and a passion for learning, while ensuring compliance with public school growth and achievement standards
- Contribute to ongoing efforts to enhance Lincoln’s commitment to equitable education and disciplinary practices. Lincoln has been a national leader for expanding public access to Montessori education, with our staff members regularly presenting at conferences, hosting study tours and teaching at Montessori-accredited training centers
- Build strong connections with students, families and colleagues, encouraging open dialogue and collaboration
What You’ll Need:
- Colorado teacher certification from the Colorado Department of Education
- An AMS, AMI, or Diploma in Elementary I or Elementary education from a MACTE-recognized or affiliate Teacher Education Program, preferred
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- A minimum of 3 years teaching experience, Montessori classroom environment preferred
- A commitment to equity and inclusion is required
