POSITION SUMMARY

CSI is seeking a data-loving, customer-service oriented team player to join its growing Data Submission Team. This team is responsible for working with CSI’s 39 portfolio of schools to provide training and technical assistance related to the collection and validation of student, staff, and school level data for the 12+ annual state and federal data collections. Qualified candidates are those with a strong understanding of intermediate Excel, have a positive attitude, are proactive and extremely organized, and are open to reflecting and continually improving upon our team’s practices. REPORTS TO: Data Manager and Director of Data and Communications

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ROLE-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES 

Essential duties of this position include the following.  Employees in this position perform some or all of the following tasks.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Coordinate with Charter School Institute schools to complete state and federal data collections, including all interchanges, snapshots, year‐round, and periodic collections
  • Provide training and tiered support on each data collection, including purpose of report, understanding and clearing errors, data validation, and adherence to audit requirements
  • Track school compliance with submission requirements, including file submission, error clearance, and certification deadlines
  • Document CSI and school processes for completing all state and federal data collections, including best practices in data entry, validation and security
  • Develop tools and resources to streamline the data collection process for CSI and schools, including development of error checking tools
  • Manage CSI district and school user accounts in CSI’s secure file transfer software and also in the Colorado Department of Education data submissions portal
  • Coordinate access to resources for utilizing SIS and plan management systems for the purpose of state and federal reporting
  • Support CSI’s District Assessment Coordinator in the troubleshoot and error-resolution for assessment-related data collections, including SBDs, READ and School Readiness collections

 

DEPARTMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that all training, technical assistance, and compliance monitoring includes tiered processes and actions based on school performance
  • Provide school performance and operational evaluation for inclusion in the CSI Annual Review of Schools for all managed programs
  • Participate in the review of all charter applications as a member of the CSI Review Team
  • Provide operational support for the Director of Data and Accountability Systems
  • In coordination with the Student Services unit, provide technical assistance and validate programmatic data for state and federal reporting
  • In coordination with the Assessment and Evaluation unit, validate assessment data for state reporting

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • A proven ability to design and facilitate effective trainings to a variety of stakeholders
  • A proven ability to proactively improve systems and identify potential internal and external customer issues
  • Detail-oriented with demonstrated ability to follow-through on projects

 

EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrated experience with advanced Excel features
  • Demonstrated experience with project management
  • Experience managing multiple ongoing programs or projects with internal and external stakeholders

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

SALARY RANGE

  • $3,750-$4,750 per month. Commensurate with experience.
