Job Description
Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TOD) needed in beautiful Grand Junction, CO. Our TOD positions are itinerant in nature serving preschool through high school age students using various communication modalities. Some degree of fluency in ASL is preferred, but not required. Must have, or be eligible to receive, the Colorado State Department of Education, Special Education – Deaf and Hard of Hearing Endorsement (https://www.cde.state.co.us/cdesped/sd-hearing_tod).
Included in our team are 2 educational audiologists and 6 Educational Interpreters.
Grand Junction is located on the western side of Colorado in Mesa County. We are 4 hours from Salt Lake City, UT and 4 hours from Denver, CO. Grand Junction is an amazing place to live, work, and play. We have a mild seasonal climate, so we enjoy the seasons, but we don’t get too cold, too hot, or too wet. We are in a prime area for outdoor recreation, with easy access to skiing and other winter sports, biking (mountain, road or trail), hiking, river/lake sports, etc. We are home to the Colorado National Monument State Park, and not far from Arches National Park near Moab, UT.
