Operations / Administration Development Assistant
Job Description
Position Title: Development Assistant
Salary Range: $35,000 – $45,000 + benefits
Reports to: Director of Operations
Position Description:
Give Merit is looking for a Development Assistant to join their team. This person will play an integral part in Give Merit’s fundraising and development strategy, working with relevant staff and board members. To ensure success, this person will have a clear understanding of the organization’s core values. Roles & Responsibilities:
General
- Develop deep understanding of Give Merit mission, values, programs, and vision
- Attend one FATE workshop per week
- Coordinate special guest mentor/visitor experience at program offerings
Development Support
- CRM Maintenance
- Remain in constant pursuit of learning the capabilities of the database and sharing how it can best serve the organization
- Uphold accurate and up-to-date information regarding constituent profiles and giving history
- Regularly input precise data into CRM in accordance with organizational processes
- Gift processing
- Become expert on donation processes and protocols
- Maintain donation intake for organization following outlined processes
- Ensure donors are acknowledged in a timely fashion
- Reporting
- Run reports as necessary for purposes including, but not limited to:
- Data tracking
- Outreach & Engagement
- Events
- Publications
- Donor Cultivation
- Work with staff and board to implement and execute stakeholder cultivation practices
(i.e. Thank You Cards, Emails, & Calls) - Attend occasional meetings with donors and prospects
- Prepare materials as necessary
- Prospect and secure partners/donors for annual corporate pledges and FATE Professional Academy event
- Work with staff and board to implement and execute stakeholder cultivation practices
- Grant Writing
- Manage a segment of organizational grant proposals (Composition, Reporting, etc.)
- Run reports as necessary for purposes including, but not limited to:
Special Projects (support as needed)
- Fundraising events
- Alumni engagement
- Social media
Qualifications:
- Passion for serving the Detroit community, especially youth
- Effective written & verbal communication skills
- Extremely strong attention to details
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Familiarity with Google applications (Gmail, Calendar, Google Drive)
- Experience with coordinating donors/volunteers, youth, or events (preferred)
- Experience with utilizing CRM (i.e. Bloomerang, Salesforce, etc.) Software (preferred)
- Understanding of what the grant seeking process entails (preferred)
