The leader in this role is responsible for the development, implementation and engaging accountabilities related the vision, goals, strategies, actions, and identified accountabilities for leadership development programming in the Aurora Public Schools. General responsibilities include: development and implementation of leadership oriented systems and programs; creation and facilitation of professional development programs for aspiring, new, and current school leaders (including mentoring and facilitating mentoring and coaching experiences/systems); creation and facilitation of practices to improve assistant principal and principal evaluation processes including evaluation calibration definitions and experiences for supervisors; development of internal and external partners and resources related to leadership development, evaluation system for school leaders, researching and engaging effective evaluation and professional learning practices. This leader will work as a full partner with Equity in Learning Directors and engage fully as a team member on the Department of Teaching and Learning Program Director team. Successful cross-functional partnership with the Division of Human Resources will be vital to the success of this leader. May assist with translation and/or communication using second language skills when possible.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Wkly | 25% | Develop and implement programming for aspiring school leaders, new leaders, assistant principals and principals, to include new leader summer institutes, ongoing new leader programming to include mentoring and coaching, APS School Leader meetings and other identified programs and learning experiences |
Wkly | 25% | Provide on-site real-time mentorship for identified new leaders |
Wkly | 20% | Working collaboratively to lead and ensure the development and application of definitions, tools and processes related to the evaluation systems for assistant principals and principals. Training teachers, principals, assistant principals and designated evaluators to understand the evaluation system to include the quality standards, evaluation processes, and reporting tools. |
Wkly | 6% | Work Directly with the Equity in Learning Director team to engage implementation and calibration of evaluation |
Wkly | 10% | Partner closely with the Director for Educator Effectiveness to ensure alignment between teacher and leader evaluation and professional learning programming |
Wkly | 10% | Lead development, provide updates and engage the consult of district leadership in Director/Instructional meetings, Division meetings, Superintendent meetings and principal meetings. Plan and facilitate meetings. |
Yrly | 4% | Perform other duties as assigned. |
Master’s and/or Doctoral degree in curriculum or appropriate field. |

5 years of successful experience school and/or school district leader.
|
|
Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, management, collaboration, decision making and analytical skills. Advanced knowledge of and experience with national and state standards, Operating knowledge of and experience with personal computers, general office equipment, Word, Excel. English language skills required. Oral and written fluency in second language may be preferred or required based on building assignment.

Colorado Teacher License, Colorado Principals’ License and valid Colorado driver’s license.
|
|
This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Assists with assigning work and evaluating District Coaches.
