Director of Business Services
Job Summary:
Administers the business affairs of the District in such a way as to provide the best possible educational services with the financial resources available.
Functions:
Assumes responsibility for budget development and long-range financial planning for supportive services. |
Assumes leadership in school referendum planning. |
Develops and administers a program for purchasing supplies and equipment. |
Assumes leadership in the development of a facility expansion program and coordinates the efforts of the District steering committee for long-range facility development. |
Administers, through the Supervisor of Finance, the District’s financial resources. |
Administers, through the Director of Technology, the District’s information systems. |
Administers, through the Supervisor of the Print Shop, the District’s print shop system. |
Establishes and supervises a program of accounting and reporting for the financial affairs of the District, including grants and federal programs, including the consolidated grant and special education grant. |
Assume a leadership role in negotiations for the Board. |
Supervises a program of budget control such as the development of monthly and annual financial reports, as required. |
Interprets the business area of education programs to the community at large. |
Manages the District’s real estate and insurance programs. |
Confers with the Superintendent on a daily basis in the management of financial resources. |
Performs such other tasks and assumes other responsibilities assigned by the Superintendent.
Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Finance/Accounting, or CPA, or BS/BA in Accounting/Finance with 5 years experience in Governmental Accounting.
The employee is required to have a minimum of five years’ experience in Governmental Accounting or financial accounting and at least one year experience in supervisory capacity. |
