Position Title: Director of Operations
Salary Range
70,000 – 80,000 + full-time benefits package
Reports To
This position reports to the Executive Director
Position Description
Give Merit is looking for a visionary Director of Operations to ensure the organization’s operational procedures are effective and befitting of the organization. This person will work with executive leadership to manage and direct company operations to meet organizational impact and financial goals, overseeing day-to-day operations and administration of the organization. To ensure success, this person will have a clear understanding of our organization’s core values and culture. Responsibilities & Duties
Org Operations
- Develop a deep knowledge of Merit’s/Give Merit’s history, purpose, and goals to create platforms for young people to create the future
- Spearhead the implementation of an organization-wide strategic plan and clearly communicate its objectives
- Create, implement, and evaluate internal operations strategy and policies
- Innovate and implement operational practices to support clear communication, staff development, identifying and applying leading best practices
- Identify growth strategy and staffing model within plan
- Conduct annual performance reviews in accordance with employee work plans, goals, and organizational strategic plan
- Manage systems and processes to maximize org-wide talent development and employee engagement
- Grow program recognition and thought leadership opportunities
- Oversee Park Director
Org Finance
- Determine how Give Merit’s fund development will support the strategic plan in conjunction with CFO
- Assist with strategic budget development
- Monitor contracts and vendors and money handling procedures in conjunction with CFO
- Lead Revenue Innovation Committee
- Develop fee-for-service model and revenue generating ideas
Qualifications
- Energetic, flexible, and strategic thinker
- Passion for serving the Detroit community, especially youth
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Strong decision making skills
- Ability to interact with a broad cross-section of stakeholders: staff, board, community
- Extremely strong attention to detail
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Familiarity with Google applications (Gmail, Calendar, Google Drive)
- Familiarity with QuickBooks online or similar database platforms
