The Executive Director of Student Success is responsible for leading the direction and supervision of the district’s Mental Health and Counseling, Behavior Systems Support, Family, Advocacy, Registration & Engagement (FARE), APS Welcome Center, Young Parent Support Program and College and Career Success teams in an effort to ensure equitable access for all APS student to academic resources, social and emotional support, and engaging in community partnerships.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Wkly | 20% | Promotes effective instructional, behavioral, and intervention practices that support high levels of response through the use of research-based data-driven practices, effective collaboration, progress monitoring, and program evaluation |
Daily | 20% | Supervises, develops, and directs team and department leaders in School and Community Services; Mental and Behavioral Health Services; APS Welcome Center and College and Career Success to ensure the effective development and support for school leaders and site-based teams in ways that facilitate access to resources for all students that result in positive outcomes and increased academic achievement |
Wkly | 20% | Assists in the supervision, training, and evaluation of department and team leaders based on defined performance standards, effective provision of appropriate resources and supports for stakeholders, and operational management |
Wkly | 5% | Monitors district, Learning Community, and individual school data to identify trends and determine needs; develops and implements effective strategies for meeting and exceeding state and national student achievement goals through differentiated support and development for staff |
Daily | 10% | Provides leadership in the areas of comprehensive academic intervention; data review and reporting; research-based mental and behavioral health support for students; utilization of funds and budget management; design and implementation of staff professional development related to areas of responsibility; and, progress monitoring of effective program and support implementation |
Daily | 9% | Creates, models, and maintains collaborative and effective communication channels between the district’s divisions, departments, and school leaders |
Wkly | 9% | Collaborates intentionally and effectively with other leaders in the Division of Equity in Learning including: Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Executive Director of School Performance, Director of College and Career Success, Director of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education, Learning Community Directors, and others to ensure effective implementation and facilitation of the cross-functionally designed priorities through the division |
Wkly | 5% | Develops and monitors the District Unified Improvement Plan in partnership with the Chief Academic Officer, the Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction, and the Executive Director of School Performance |
Yrly | 2% | Perform other duties as assigned. |
Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Special Education, Organizational Design, or Educational Leadership; Master’s degree required, Doctorate preferred. |

Over 5 years of experience in teaching or instructional leadership required. Over 5 years of experience in school or district level leadership preferred.
|
|
Knowledge of content and pedagogy in instructional planning, implementation and assessment/evaluation. Strong depth of knowledge related to effective practices in adult learning. Understanding of technology integration and personalized learning practices. Experience with instructional implementation of highly diverse educational contexts. Excellent written and oral communication skills. English language skills required. Oral and written fluency in second language may be preferred or required based on building assignment.

Colorado Department of Education Principal or Administrator License preferred. Degree or certificate is the instruction of English Language Acquisition preferred, not required.

|
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Directly supervises leaders and teams in School and Community Services; Mental and Behavioral Health Services; APS Welcome Center and College and Career Success. Responsibilities include assigning and directing work; working with the Equity in Learning Executive Director Team in professional development planning for leaders, evaluation and development of employees, and addressing concerns and resolving problems with multiple stakeholder groups.
