Work Year: 260 days/8 hours |
SUMMARY: Responsible for maintaining the District’s General Ledger. Provide accurate and timely recording and reporting of District financial information in compliance with GAAP, Governmental Accounting Standards, and Colorado Financial Policies and Procedures.

EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
- More than two years and up to and including three years of experience in accounting preferred
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS or CERTIFICATIONS:
- Criminal background check required for hire
- CPA preferred
TECHNICAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
- Possess strong oral and written communication skills
- Possess strong interpersonal relations skills
- Strong knowledge and understanding of governmental financial accounting, auditing, reporting and best business practices in accounting
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong computer and accounting software skills
- Ability to promote and follow Board of Education policies and building and department procedures
- Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse ethnic and
educational backgrounds - Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator
MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT OPERATING KNOWLEDGE:
- Operating knowledge of financial and payroll software
- Operating knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and E-Mail software
- Operating knowledge of and experience with typical office equipment, such as telephones, copier, etc
