The Finance Manager is responsible for maintaining the school’s financial records. This position will accomplish these duties while working with staff toward achieving the goals set forth in the Prospect Ridge Academy Mission Statements.
The Finance Manager is responsible for:
Financial Management
In partnership with the Finance and Business Director:
- Manage month end close, journal entries, and general accounting processes
- Manage audit process and other compliance issues
- Oversee daily finance operations and processes, including the management of the purchasing card program
- Develop and manage internal and external financial reports
- Assist in annual budget development
Payroll
Oversee and process payroll including:
- Collect & verify all time sheets, including substitutes and hourly employees
- Maintain changes and corrections to employee tax withholdings and bank options.
- Verify payroll salaries & account codes are correct
- Reconcile, balance all medical, dental, vision, and retirement withdrawals.
- Enter and maintain current garnishments of pay for employees
- Remit payments for various general payroll deductions taken from paychecks
- Create and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports to PERA, IRS, State of Colorado, unemployment, W4 and W2
System Data Integrity
- Work with Business and Finance Team to ensure appropriate segregation of duties is maintained in finance and HR systems
- Work in partnership with the HR Manager in assuring all employee data is correct
Other Duties as assigned
- Supervise Finance Assistant
- Attend Finance Committee meetings
- Provide internal and external customer support; answer inquiries, and provide information as requested
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
- Prior finance experience required, preferably in an educational or non-profit setting
- Skilled in use of Microsoft Excel
- Experience in accounting software
- Excellent attention to detail
- Resourceful in generating creative solutions to problems
Hiring Range
$55,968 – $62,964 per year
