Interim Middle School Mathematics Teacher January-May 2026

 

The position will begin in January of 2026 for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year. This position reports to the Head of Middle School and provides our kids with joyful, interactive learning experiences that give our kids choice and voice in their learning. We are looking for candidates who love math and have a strong desire to teach middle school children. We will also be running a search for the math teacher position for the ‘26-27 school year and applicants may apply for both roles.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Teach three sections of 8th grade Algebra I math
  • Create a safe, supportive, mutually respectful classroom community that values the distinct contributions and abilities of each student.
  • Commit to embodying inclusiveness as a core value in the classroom and within the school 
  • Work within a team-based, collaborative environment to support students of varied levels and abilities.
  • Help support homeroom and advisory with multi-aged kids with colleagues.
  • Participate and engage in professional activities and gatherings at team, departmental, divisional, and school-wide levels.
  • Engage in student-life activities in supporting roles such as electives, grade-level meetings, and potentially going on grade level trips in May which do receive an additional stipend.
  • Assist with duties as needed, such as carpool, recess, lunch, and other duties as assigned.

 

Desired Qualifications and Background Experience: 

  • Strong background in teaching mathematics and specifically Algebra I
  • A commitment to, enjoyment of, and appreciation of the development needs of middle school students. 
  • A bachelor’s degree is required. 
  • A willingness to pitch in and help out wherever needed.
  • Excellent collaboration skills that support students and colleagues.
  • Flexible and able to manage details and follow-through.
  • Familiarity and comfort with a range of technology, including the Google platform.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and reach, stoop, kneel, and bend.

 

Salary and Benefits:

On an annual basis the salary range is $52,000-$80,000 prorated for the remaining portion of the year.
