Join us in beautiful Pagosa Springs, Colorado, where as a lead elementary teacher you engage students in learning outside the classroom walls. Working through a year-round schedule with a two-month summer break and week-long breaks every 5-6 weeks; teachers become curriculum creators at this PBL school. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Elementary School Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will foster a positive, Restorative Practices learning environment, engage students in Project-based Learning educational experiences, and support their academic and personal growth. This role requires a commitment to nurturing young minds and promoting a love for learning.

Duties

Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the curriculum and cater to diverse learning styles.
Utilize effective classroom management techniques to create a safe and productive learning environment.
Assess student progress through various methods, including tests, assignments, and observations, providing feedback to guide improvement.
Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum development and share best practices in teaching methodologies.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to foster a strong school community.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field; teaching certification is preferred.
Knowledge of Restorative Practice principles, effective PBL teaching practices and understanding of the science of reading.
Experience in lesson planning, curriculum development, and classroom management.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to connect with students of varying backgrounds.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues while also demonstrating strong independent work ethic.
A passion for education and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for all students through participation and commitment to student field work and trips.

Pay: $50,000.00 – $52,000.00 per year

Schedule:
Starts August 11: Monday to Friday: A week off in October, Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, March May: year-round schedule means two weeks of work in June.
