Carbondale Community School is a Roaring Fork School District charter school managed by Compass for Lifelong Discovery. Carbondale Community School (CCS) provides a balanced, integrated educational experience that incorporates strong academic skills woven into project-based learning opportunities. We are an intentionally small K-8 public school with one class per grade and multi-age learning centers.

Required Qualifications:
- Must have or be eligible for a Colorado Teaching License with Special Education Generalist endorsement
Job Description:
- Employ evidence-based practices to teach elementary and middle school students
- Communicate and collaborate with colleagues, students, and families to refer, evaluate and implement full and individualized support for students with disabilities
- Manage and organize time and duties to ensure timely and thorough completion of special education service delivery, progress monitoring and evaluations, collaborative meetings, and associated paperwork
- Provide individualized supports for children in general education settings both inside and outside of the classroom
- Utilize informal and formal assessments to plan and deliver effective instruction and to engage a diverse population of students in meaningful learning
- Develop effective positive behavior support plans when needed
- Participate and contribute to weekly school-wide staff meetings and district-wide special education meetings
- Perform additional duties as assigned

Classification: Certified
Contract Period: Position begins in August 2022
Compensation: 2021-2022 CCS Salary Placement Schedule – in revision for 2022-2023 school year. CCS staff are employed by Compass for Lifelong Discovery. Compensation is based on experience.
