Job Description

SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION: The primary responsibility of the program coordinator position is to provide program implementation research, identification and implementation support and guidance across the district and individual schools. Additionally, it is to help teachers analyze their teaching behaviors to increase student performance in the program. The program coordinator will work with building principals, leadership teams and teachers and will facilitate the process for adopting, implementing and monitoring a PREK-12 district program plan including assessment, instruction professional development, and program evaluation. The program coordinator will be expected to be current in instructional strategies and model and coach teachers in program strategies.

Language Development Duties
  • Assist teachers and administrators in employing appropriate research-based strategies to ensure students achieve linguistically and academically.
  • Oversee the district ELD budget
  • Facilitate professional learning opportunities for teachers and administrators.
  • Support and coach teachers in the district.
  • Ensure that all federal and state reporting requirements are met.
  • Coordinate assessment of language learners.
  • Attend district and state-related meetings and training to keep teachers and administrators informed.
  • Actively research and communicate best practices and implementation of a cohesive K-12 Dual Language Program.
  • Coordinate with all schools to ensure articulation of program design including the creation of a dual-language scope and sequence.
  • Provide assistance to school teams in designing, and delivering professional development for teachers and administrators in the dual language program.
  • Collaborate with schools to provide up-to-date materials in the partner language.
  • Collaborate with district staff to promote and support equity initiatives.  (add)
  • Serve as an active member of the Instructional team and curriculum committees.
  •   Collaborate with I-Team to ensure the ELD perspective is included in district work.
  • Work with school and district administrators for teacher recruitment, hiring and retention.
QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree required.
  2. Demonstrate effective implementation of instructional technology in lessons.
  3. Current authorization or license issued by the State of Colorado indicating s/he is properly endorsed or s/he must meet the qualifications criteria under NCA.
  4. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Effective time management and organizational skills.
