SALARY RANGE: Starting at $6,250 – $7,500 per month (This position is year-round and salary is based on a 12-month payroll cycle)

POSITION SUMMARY
The Colorado Charter School Institute (CSI) is committed to creating and sustaining a portfolio of high-quality school options that meet the needs of all students. CSI is seeking passionate, equity-oriented Mental Health professionals to assist CSI in furthering the organization’s mission of increasing access and equity for students across all CSI schools. This position will collaborate with other staff to create an organization wide approach to supporting student mental health needs through relationship-building, training, and guidance with CSI school staff. The Mental Health Program Specialist will lead the organization’s work on social-emotional learning and mental health initiatives to improve outcomes for students attending CSI schools.
Strong candidates will be high-capacity individuals with a background in addressing student mental health needs in school based or community settings. This position requires high levels of collaboration and excellent communication skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects at once and the ability to relate to school staff. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ROLE-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties of this position include the following. Employees in this position perform some or all of the following tasks. Other duties may be assigned.
- Advance CSI’s mission of increasing access and equity for students across all CSI schools.
- Provide direct support to school mental health professionals, school leaders, teachers, and staff on mental health and social-emotional learning programming, including standards, curriculum, assessment, and professional development.
- Manage grant funds to ensure effective allocation of CSI’ social and emotional resources.
- Provide regular communication and customer services to schools in all school program areas.
- Establish a mental health professional network as a resource for communication and peer collaboration on evidence-based practices.
- Ensure that all training, technical assistance, and compliance monitoring includes tiered processes and actions based on school performance.
- Coordinate and facilitate the development of the cooperative efforts between schools and other community agencies in providing services to students.
- Collaborate with the SS Department to provide schools regular communication and customer service in all school program areas.
- Collaborate with Student Services Department to support the training, technical assistance, and compliance monitoring of all school program areas.
DEPARTMENT RESPONSILBITIES
- Ensure that all training, technical assistance, and compliance monitoring includes tiered processes and actions based on school performance, including serving as a Case Manager for assigned schools.
- Provide school performance and operational evaluation for inclusion in the CSI Annual Review of Schools for all managed programs.
- Participate in the review of all charter applications as a member of the CSI Review Team.
- Provide operational support for the Director of Student Services.
- In coordination with the Data Services unit, provide technical assistance and validate programmatic data for state and federal reporting.
- In coordination with the Grants Fiscal Coordinator, review and approve monthly Request for Funds for programmatic alignment and financial compliance.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
At a MINIMUM, we are looking for the following:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work, School Psychology, or School Counseling
- Active Colorado Department of Education Mental Health Provider License
- Minimum of 3 years work experience in a school based mental health role
- Experience responding to student suicide and threat assessments and developing appropriate recommendations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A proven ability to design and facilitate effective trainings to a variety of stakeholders
- A proven ability to proactively improve systems and identify potential internal and external customer issues
- Detail-oriented with demonstrated ability to follow-through on projects
- Experience developing and implementing training resources and procedures
- Experience managing multiple ongoing programs or projects with internal and external stakeholders
- All final candidates must successfully pass a thorough criminal background check.
Ideal candidates will have some, or all, of the following education, skills, and abilities:
- DORA Mental Health licensure
- Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating process documentation and resources for various stakeholders
- Familiarity and experience with state and federal laws associated with exceptional students
LOCATION & TRAVEL
This position is based in Denver but does require some state-wide travel to provide training and technical assistance to CSI schools.
