Job Description
North Arvada is a neighborhood school that also serves as a Gifted and Talented center program for grades 6, 7, and 8. We serve a great community of students with diverse backgrounds, we embrace our diversity and encourage students to own their learning in a variety of ways.
Our students engage with innovative, personalized learning experiences using a number of tools and a diverse electives selection. We emphasize a culture of enriched learning tailored to every student’s needs.
At North Arvada Middle School we grow our students through a foundation of research based practices, whole child support, and a strong community. Students and staff live by our Knights’ PRIDE: Personal responsibility, Respect, Integrity, Determination, and Empathy. We have a strong focus on educating the whole child and we provide social and emotional support through our wellness room, restorative practices, Sources of Strength program, 6th grade mentoring program, counselors, and progressive classroom management and instruction. RESPONSIBILITIES
As outlined in the Jefferson County Public Schools’ School Leadership profile, an individual in this position serves as the school leader by providing leadership, community building, instructional leadership, and human and financial resources management.
REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years licensed experience in public or nonpublic K-12 schools, with 2+ years in educational administration or similar leadership roles.
- Bachelor’s degree plus additional coursework for certification.
- Colorado Principal License or in progress.
- Skills in conflict management, problem solving, resource allocation, data analysis, and communication, including tech proficiency.
- Ability to manage staffing, budgets, and crises, ensuring student safety and discipline.
- Regular interaction with parents, students, law enforcement, vendors, media, and government agencies.
- Direct supervision of various school staff, adhering to organizational policies and laws.
- Support instructional programs, evaluate teachers, and lead curriculum development and implementation.
- Analytical thinking, independent judgment, and quick decision-making in complex situations.
- Strong understanding of student behavior, district policies, and community impact.
- Physical demands include standing, walking, reaching, and occasional lifting.
- Mental functions involve analysis, communication, evaluation, and interpersonal skills.
- Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions, moderate noise level.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENT
