Description of Position/Program
Peetz School is looking for their next building-level leader who is willing to continue the traditions and progressiveness of Peetz School in its mission of academic excellence, career-connected learning, and college readiness for all of its students. Peetz School is entering its second phase of a construction project that will create a new school. The Principal will play a pivotal role in developing procedures and processes within the new facility. As the school leader, the principal is surrounded by a dedicated staff, outstanding students, and a supportive community. Duties/ Responsibilities
The PK-12 Principal is accountable for the curriculum, instruction and learning in the building. She/he is responsible for the following:
- Development and implementation of curriculum in all grade levels and content areas that are aligned to the Colorado Academic Standards.
- Supervision of classroom instruction
- Faculty evaluations
- Student discipline
- Faculty professional development
- Parent communication
- Extra-curricular activity supervision
- Staff meetings
- All other duties as assigned by the Superintendent
Required Qualifications
- M.Ed. in Educational Leadership or similar degree
- Candidates in route to completion of required qualifications will be considered
- Colorado Principal Certification
- Classroom teaching experience
- Strong knowledge of effective instructional practices
- Demonstrated conflict resolution and communication skills
- Ability to be fair, consistent and reasonable in student discipline
- Positive attitude with friendly and open disposition
Desired Qualifications
- Successful school leadership experience in rural schools
- Experience with special needs students
- Classroom experience in both elementary and secondary environments
- Experience in curriculum development
- Love of and desire to live in a rural setting
