Teacher Resident Teacher for Early Childhood
Job Description
Compositive Primary is a young school serving three-year-olds through 5th grade, located on the Fitzsimons and Anschutz Medical Campuses in Aurora, Colorado. We are seeking a positive, creative, flexible, and innovative resident teacher to serve as part of a collaborative team in our small, innovative school.
Early Childhood Resident Teacher Responsibilities
- Assist Lead Teacher in all aspects of the classroom environment.
- Contribute to a positive school culture through connections with students, faculty, and families.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and administrators to develop inquiry-based curricula that develop in students the capacity to reflect and learn, recognize and act, care and connect, and engage and serve.
- Foster a positive learning environment in all areas, demonstrating dedication to instilling joy in learning for all students.
- Ensure that every child feels seen and heard and has a sense of belonging.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and all members of the school community.
- Serve as a steward for school support, managing classroom budgets and respecting resources.
- Approach each day with a sense of wonder and playfulness.
- Participate in and attend the following:
- Regular faculty and staff meetings after school hours (from 3:45-4:45pm twice per month)
- One afternoon per week of Afternoon Arc coverage from 3:30-6:00pm (extra hourly pay will be compensated)
- All aspects of school programming and activities (including school events and festivals that take place outside of the regular work week)
- Work to uphold the mission, vision, and goals of the school.
- Other duties as assigned.
Additional Resident Teacher Responsibilities
- Lead the ECE classroom when the Lead Teacher is absent
Qualifications for All Teachers
- An unyielding commitment to upholding our guiding principles and a firm belief in our school’s vision and mission.
- Bachelor’s degree required. Colorado Shines Credential 3.0 Level 2 or higher required (or in process)
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Background in inquiry-based curriculum preferred.
Compensation

- Resident Teacher salary range: $35k-$45k
