The Attainment Network seeks a strategic, creative, and collaborative communications professional to lead the development and execution of the organization’s communications strategy. Reporting to the CEO, the Senior Manager, Strategic Communications will shape organizational messaging, elevate thought leadership, translate complex education-to-workforce initiatives into compelling stories, and strengthen visibility, partnerships, and impact. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines strategic planning with content creation, digital communications, executive communications, and stakeholder engagement.
Areas of Responsibility: Develop and execute integrated communications and storytelling strategies; serve as a communications advisor to organizational leadership; manage website, email, social media, media relations, and thought leadership efforts; create and oversee high-quality content and multimedia communications; strengthen communications systems and analytics; manage communications projects, budgets, and external vendors; and collaborate across teams to support organizational priorities, partnerships, and growth.
Requirements & Qualifications: Seven or more years of experience in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or a related field, with demonstrated success developing communication strategies, creating compelling content, and advising senior leaders. Strong writing, storytelling, project management, and relationship-building skills are essential. Experience in nonprofit, consulting, education, workforce development, philanthropy, or government settings is preferred. Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience preferred.
Work Environment & Benefits: This full-time, exempt position is primarily remote, offering flexibility while maintaining strong collaboration across the organization. Employees should expect periodic in-person meetings and occasional travel for conferences, convenings, partner engagement, and team activities.
