Instructional Support Summer Paraprofessional
Job Description
Paraprofessionals in the Scholars Unlimited program provide a safe and nurturing environment which allows elementary-age students to grow. They work with teachers to support students with literacy instruction and STEM projects.
The summer program is June 10 to July 19, 2019. The program will be held in various elementary schools in the Denver Metro area. Paraprofessionals generally work 8:15 to 11:45, Monday to Friday (except for July 4th and 5th). Times may vary with the individual school site.
Responsibilities:
- Provide positive opportunities to engage students to express, and create
- Be actively engaged with students at all times
- Provide and support opportunties for students to learn new skills
- Actively support the teacher, provide general classroom support
- Provide guidance and instruction for individual or small group instruction
- Provide literacy instruction through literacy kits
- High expectations for critical classroom management skills
- Facilitate theme-based projects that aligns with curriculum and projects that align with goals
- Daily classroom preparation
- Allow for flexibility in order to support the team and program as needed
- Provide safe and quality care to all students
Compensation: $13.00 an hour for instruction, planning and training. excellent professional development, phonics instruction, social emotional learning training, literacy intervention skills, professional coaching from master teachers.
