Job Description

The board of education, staff and community has determined the following qualities to be
essential to the success of their future superintendent. We desire a superintendent who:

  • Is an inspiration leader
  • Possesses excellent communication, listening and people skills
  • Is a collaborative team builder
  • Has a strong, fair and consistent management style
  • Comes with broad PK-12 teaching, administrative understanding and experience
  • Has a sound understanding of Colorado school law and finance
  • Prioritizes serving the students

Qualifications

  1. Type D Certificate or higher preferred
  2. MA or Higher in Education and Leadership Studies preferred
  3. Minimum three years as a teacher and three years as a principal
  4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and
    acceptable.

How might the superintendent and board develop an effective relationship that also fosters trust and communication between district, leadership, staff and community? d. Staff has many assignments outside the classroom. How do you create an enthusiasm for instruction and a willingness to accept additional responsibilities, while at the same time preventing staff burnout?
