Job Description
One Way Teacher:
SUMMARY: The One-Way Dual Language Classroom Teacher is committed to instructing and supporting culturally and linguistically diverse students on their pathway to becoming bilingual, bi-literate and multicultural. The teacher will provide instruction in English and Spanish to deliver a guaranteed and viable curriculum in both languages for students in elementary grades K-6. Will create lesson plans, instruct students on core subjects such as science, literature, and math, and create a well-rounded, comprehensive instructional preparedness based on the District’s Core Curriculum.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities for students that are English language learners.
Create positive educational climate for students to learn in.
Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.
Analyze student data to implement appropriate instructional strategies for differentiated instruction.
Participate in school and district professional development.
Communicate consistently and effectively with parents through both oral and written communication.
Collaboratively plan with grade level and vertical team members plus Instructional Coaches, ESL Teacher, Digital Teacher Librarians utilizing student data, district curriculum and instructional resources.
Conduct parent and community engagement activities.
Demonstrate flexible thinking and exhibit a growth mindset.
Reflect upon and refine teaching craft through participation in coaching cycle – observe, model, practice and reflect on instruction.
Observe and evaluate student’s performance.
Collaborate with all stakeholders (students, parents, teachers, instructional coaches, administration at school and district level) to support student achievement.
Administer school, district, and state assessments.
Employ current best practices and research-based instructional strategies.
Implement Jeffco’s guaranteed and viable curriculum.
Utilize various support resources and technologies to enhance student learning.
Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
Manage student behavior and build culturally responsive relationships with students and families.
Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Colorado Department of Education Teaching License with an endorsement in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education Endorsement or willingness to obtain and Elementary Education Highly Qualified. Must demonstrate native or native-like proficiency in both English and Spanish.
EXPERIENCE: Understanding of or experience teaching in a One-Way Dual Language Program Experience teaching at the elementary level.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EQUIPMENT: Native or native-like level in English and Spanish in speaking, reading, listening, and writing. Knowledge of English as a Second Language (ESL) instructional strategies required. Knowledge of curriculum and development of elementary age children. Knowledge and experience using a variety of assessment tools and analyzing data
Two Way Teacher:
Summary: The Spanish Environment Two-Way Dual Language Classroom Teacher is committed to instructing and supporting culturally and linguistically diverse students on their pathway to becoming bilingual, biliterate and multicultural. The teacher collaborates with all stakeholders (parents, teachers, instructional coaches, etc.) to ensure student achievement. The teacher provides instruction only in Spanish and collaborates with the English environment teacher to deliver a guaranteed and viable curriculum in both languages.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Follow the district Two-Way Dual Language Model.
Teach in the Spanish environment of a Two-Way Dual Language Program.
Collaboratively plan with grade level and vertical team members plus Instructional Coaches, ESL Teacher, Digital Teacher Librarians utilizing student data, district curriculum and instructional resources.
Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities for students that are both English speaking and English language learners.

EXPERIENCE Understanding of or experience teaching in Two-Way Dual Language program (Dual Immersion)
Experience teaching at the elementary level
