Finance Director of Human Resources

Job Description

Role Mission

The Director of Human Resources plays a critical role in making the organization run smoothly and helping staff members feel supported. They are responsible for ensuring Rocky Mountain Prep is in compliance with applicable employment regulations and ensuring our staff members receive the pay and benefits to which they are entitled.

1. Manage all benefits administration and compliance

  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management
  • Coordinate with insurance providers and brokers to select plans for the upcoming year
  • Organize and implement open enrollment and ensure 100% completion of open enrollment events
  • Approve and enroll staff members in selected benefits plans, as applicable
  • Complete all post-payroll benefits accounting steps including invoice review and funds submission
  • Manage the optional 401k plan enrollment for all staff
  • Manage relationship and compliance with PERA
  • Complete and manage all claims for worker’s compensation, short-term/long-term disability, FMLA, and maternity leave

2. Manage all payroll activities so that 100% of staff receive accurate payment every month

  • Collaborate with managers to ensure all compensation changes and work hours are reflected in payroll
  • Manage any payroll advance requests
  • Manage performance pay bonuses
  • Complete and submit payroll register each month, including post-payroll completion steps

3. Provide outstanding customer service to staff members

  • All inquiries from current employees receive a response within 24 hours
  • Complete all VOE requests from current and former employees
  • Develops and maintains the HR resource bank for employees
  • Facilitates professional development and training for current employees on HR practices and policies as necessary

4. Talent Support & HRIS Management

  • Manage follow through and documentation for all employee performance concerns, PIPs, write-ups, and separations
  • Write all offer letters and severance agreements for the organization, ensure signed receipt, and correct filing of documentation
  • Manage HRIS (Paylocity) partnership and adapt platform to the needs of the organization
  • Initiate and complete all HRIS onboarding activities for new staff members
  • Manage employee work calendars and PTO tracking and reporting
  • Manage comprehensive staff list reporting and accurate personnel records in HRIS

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in payroll, benefits administration, and/or other HR-related activities
  • PHR or SHRM certification required
  • Pass a background check & demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States
  • Experience with Paylocity is preferred but not required

This is a full-time, in-person, benefits-eligible position with a salary range of $75,000-$85,000, depending on experience.
