Instructional Support Instructional Facilitator, EARSS and MTSS Coordinator

Job Description

The EARSS and MTSS Coordinator is a grant-funded, 4-year position to lead and oversee the development of a district-wide MTSS program that supports our mission to ensure that every student develops the enduring knowledge, skills and character to thrive in a changing world. This position is responsible for collaborating closely with building administrators, educators, support staff, families and students to establish and implement a tiered framework that uses data to meet the needs of every student through academics, behavior and social-emotional learning interventions. Year 1 will involve listening and learning from our school-based MTSS teams, facilitating our consultative partnership with American Institutes of Research and coordinating the implementation of our CDE Expelled and At-Risk Student Services grant. Year 1 will also involve refining our district MTSS implementation plan to guide efforts in years 2-4. During all four years of the position, the coordinator will oversee the Expelled and At-Risk Student Services grant (EARSS) including reporting, data management, budgets and fidelity measures. This is a position on the Instructional Team, directly reporting to the Chief Academic Officer and will act as a key member of the district Student Services Team in order to enact our strategic goal around equitable and effective student support services. Qualified applicants will have leadership experience implementing high quality MTSS and possess strong collaboration, coaching and systemic leadership skills. 

 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Receives direct supervision from the Chief Academic Officer.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES – The following are examples of primary duties assigned to the position.  Other related primary duties and responsibilities may be assigned. 

 

MTSS Coordination

 

  1. Lead and monitor a district-wide MTSS implementation plan aligned to the district’s vision for MTSS.
  2. Facilitate and implement district MTSS strategic implementation plan. Work closely with the MTSS Steering Committee, Instructional Team, Leadership Council, K-12 counseling teams and school staff to refine development and implementation of the district MTSS implementation plan. 
  3. Work collaboratively with district administrators, school-based leadership teams, and teachers to facilitate implementation of a MTSS at the district and school levels.
  4. Coach and support school-based MTSS teams on analyzing student needs and identifying research-based interventions across academics, behavior and social-emotional learning. 
  5. Collaborate with the district data analyst to establish data collection and analysis procedures to inform decision-making around student needs and district/school resource allocation and intervention. 
  6. Collaborate with the district data analyst to set up technology platforms to support MTSS.
  7. Coordinate and facilitate MTSS PD and training for school-based and district staff.

 

EARSS Grant Coordination

  1. Manage and oversee all obligations and opportunities related to the Colorado Department of Education’s Expelled and At-Risk Student Support Grant. 
  2. Work with FRC finance specialist to track budgets and manage fiduciary reporting.
  3. Work closely with district data analyst to build, monitor, maintain and report on data systems to support EARSS goals.
  4. Complete all reporting for EARSS grant throughout 4-year grant period.

QUALIFICATIONS 

Knowledge of: 

MTSS framework: Universal, Targeted and Intensive Instruction and Supports 

Social-emotional learning, restorative practices, trauma-informed practices, and family engagement.

Implementation science to effectively integrate new practices into existing systems (or develop new systems)

Restorative, Trauma-Informed, and Culturally Sustaining Practices

Equitable educational practices in the MTSS framework for emerging bilingual students, gifted students, and students with disabilities
