ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ROLE-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties of this position include the following.  Employees in this position perform some or all of the following tasks.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Advance CSI’s mission of increasing access and equity for students across all CSI schools.
  • Provide professional development, program support and monitoring for Gifted Education Programs.
  • Develop, maintain and evaluate CSI’s Gifted Education Program Plan.
  • Coordinate with the Grants Fiscal and Accounting Manager,
    • Determine procedures for allocating ECEA Gifted Education Funds and reporting on fund expenditures
    • Organize, submit, and maintain Universal Screening & Qualified Personnel (USG) Grant budget, including school level budget development and reporting
    • Review and approve USG Request for Funds.
  • Provide professional development, program support and monitoring for Emergent Multilingual (English Learner) programs.
  • Coordinate with the Evaluation, Accountability and School Improvement team to
    • Develop WIDA ACCESS training
    • Support interpretation of WIDA ACCESS data by school personnel
  • Support Grants Fiscal and Accounting Manager in Title III school level budget development and revisions.
  • Serve as CSI’s McKinney Vento liaison, supporting schools in identifying homeless students, accessing Title I homeless funds and providing guidance and resources to respond to increasing needs of homeless students.
  • Provide professional development, program support and monitoring for dropout and re-engagement initiatives, including homeless, child welfare services, and related program grants.
  • Build school and community partnerships to support school’s service to students.
  • Provide regular communication and customer services to schools in all school program areas.
  • Collaborate with additional Student Services staff to enhance professional development, support and monitoring across school programs.

DEPARTMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in the review of charter applications and school operational plans in support of CSI’s role as a school authorizer.
  • Provide school performance and operational evaluation for inclusion in the CSI Annual Review of Schools for all managed programs.
  • Provide operational support for the Equity Specialist & School Programs Manager
  • In coordination with the Data Submissions unit, provide technical assistance and validate programmatic data for state and federal reporting.
  • Collaborate and work within the department and across other CSI departments.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

At a minimum, we are looking for the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field
  • 5 years teaching experience, including working with emerging multilinguals and/or gifted students
  • Strong time-management and interpersonal skills
  • Experience developing and implementing training resources and procedures
  • Experience managing multiple ongoing programs or projects with internal and external stakeholders
  • Attention to detail, professional written and verbal communication skills, and familiarity with modern workplace software programs and tools
  • Self-motivated
  • All final candidates must successfully pass a thorough criminal background check.

Ideal candidates will have some, or all, of the following education, skills, and abilities:

  • Colorado Professional Teacher License with endorsements in Culturally & Linguistically Diverse Education and Gifted Education preferred
  • Master’s degree or advanced training in Culturally & Linguistically Diverse Education and/or Gifted Education
  • Experience administering WIDA/ACCESS or Universal Screening assessments
  • Experience working with charter schools in Colorado

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A proven ability to design and facilitate effective trainings to a variety of stakeholders
  • A proven ability to proactively improve systems and identify potential internal and external customer issues
  • Detail-oriented with demonstrated ability to follow-through on projects
  • Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating process documentation and resources for various stakeholders.
  • Experience with data analysis and statistics
  • Familiarity and experience with state and federal laws associated with emerging multilinguals and gifted students.
