POSITION SUMMARY
This position is a key support role for CSI schools. Facilitating necessary school communication, monitoring school progress, and working with other department staff to develop trainings and tools for school staff. In coordination with finance leadership and internal teams this role will provide expertise and guidance to internal and external partners.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ROLE-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties of this position include the following. Employees in this position perform some or all of the following tasks. Other duties may be assigned.

CSI SCHOOL FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT OVERSIGHT AND SUPPORT:
In coordination with the Chief of Finance and Operations:
• Develop and implement standard internal audit schedules and procedures for CSI schools.
• Provide analysis of school budgets, audits, quarterly or monthly school financial statements, and all other school financial information for Chief of Finance and Ops as needed; including providing predictive and ‘risk analysis of CSI schools based on financial information.
• Direct and coordinate the submission of CSI schools adopted and amended budgets, and ensure all submissions adhere to statutory requirements, verify enrollments to contract expectations.
• Ensure all CSI schools complete and submit annual financial audits by deadlines and assist with the completion of the annual financial data pipeline submission
• Coordinate year end reporting and data pipeline prep with CSI staff for CSI’s School Food Authority to ensure school and CSI reporting meets internal deadlines
• Send year end payment and accrual summaries to CSI schools to assist with data pipeline
compilation at the school level.
• Calculate annual year end rebate and refunds to CSI schools
• Make recommendations to the Chief of Finance and Ops for interventions and support of schools in need of heightened or intensive support and monitoring.
• Review and assist with the CSI Assistance Fund applications. Provide risk assessment and
recommendations to the Chief of Finance and Ops.
• Create and review revenue allocations for various revenue streams, including PPR, MLO, CSCC, AtRisk, and others.

Assist in the implementation of the CSI school compliance policies as needed.
• In coordination with the Chief of Finance and Ops, develop and deliver guidance to schools regarding:
o Financial accounting and reporting
o School Budget Law
o Financial Policies and Procedures
o Revenue Calculations and funding streams
• Ensure that all training, technical assistance, and compliance monitoring includes tiered processes and actions based on school performance.
• Other duties and supports as assigned.

DEPARTMENT RESPONSBILITIES
• Ensure that all training, technical assistance, and compliance monitoring includes tiered processes and actions based on school performance.
• Provide school performance and operational evaluation for inclusion in the CSI Annual Review of Schools for all managed programs.
• Review new school, renewal school applications and provide recommendations, risk assessment and other analysis.
• Provide operational support for the Director of Finance and Operations.
• In coordination with the Finance Department, provide technical assistance and validate financial data for state and federal reporting.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
At a minimum, we are looking for the following:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Public Administration
• 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance field
• Comprehensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Aptitude for variety and changing expectations in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience managing communication and accountability systems for large groups
• Strong time-management and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail, professional written and verbal communication skills, and familiarity with modern workplace software programs and tools
• Self-motivated and self-directed Ideal candidates will have some, or all, of the following education, skills, and abilities:
• Master’s degree preferred (5+ years of successful work experience can be substituted for a degree)
• Three (3) or more years in a relevant field with experience in a governmental accounting setting (school district accounting) preferred.
• Experience using accounting software, various types
• Experience working with charter schools in Colorado
• All final candidates must successfully pass a thorough criminal background check.

LOCATION & TRAVEL
Must be a resident of Colorado. Some within state travel is required. Telecommute Flexibility is available.
