Operations / Administration Alternative Program & Partnership Director, School of Education

Job Description

Scope of Responsibilities:

Leadership for Transition to Teaching Program

  • Provide leadership in the hiring and mentorship of faculty teaching in the Transition to Teaching Program
  • Plan and provide oversight to summer residency including scheduling, orientation, communication, and course instruction as appropriate
  • Serve as an advocate for the program in collaboration with admissions and marketing.
  • Serve as a liaison between the School of Education, School of Professional and Online Education, the Indiana Department of Education, and Partner K-12 Schools
  • Oversee budget
  • Primary point of contact for students and program partners

Student Support, Mentorship, Instruction and Assessment in Transition to Teaching Program

  • Serve as academic advisor to students in the program providing direction and support in all aspects of program success and completion (funding sources, course resources, technology)
  • Collaborate with registrar and School of Education in the scheduling of classes and instructors
  • Implement Unit Assessment System by collecting key assessment data, leading data-driven decision making, providing program reviews to IDOE as necessary
  • Collaborate with Systems Manager in data collection and reporting

Leadership for Purdue Licensure

  • Collaborate with Director of School of Arts & Sciences Partnership Programs in recruitment, onboarding of prospective candidates.
  • Act as secondary academic advisor for education candidates enrolled in Grace and Purdue
  • Act as liaison to marketing department for all marketing/PR/website needs
  • Collaborate with registrar on course requirements
  • Collaborate with System’s Manager in licensure requirements & approval
  • Support candidates in post-graduation paths (Purdue licensure completion, enrollment in Purdue masters of education program, career opportunities)
  • Create and oversee classroom placements with local school systems for practicum and clinical requirements through Purdue
  • Act as 1st level of problem solving for Purdue practicums and clinical placements
  • Collaborate with SOE faculty and staff as well as Purdue faculty regarding candidates’ professional/academic needs
  • Act as liaison between classroom supervisors, Purdue faculty, and Grace College SOE dean for issues that may arise in practicum/placements
  • Mentor and assist candidates in ELL program with professional conference requirements

Leadership for Partnership Projects

  • Oversee Whitley County Consolidated School Partnership-Grow Your Own IDOE funded grant (we have done significant work on this partnership)
  • Provide support and oversight as needed for Warsaw Residency Grant: Partnership with
  • Warsaw Community Schools.
  • Provide support and oversight as needed for Intense Intervention Licensure Program:
  • Recruitment, Marketing, Licensing, Partnership with IDOE funded ISEAL Project
  • SOE Marketing liaison
  • Provide support and oversight with Ivy Tech Teacher Pipeline Partnership
  • Pursue new innovative partnerships and income generating projects

 

Qualifications:

  1. Earned doctorate in education
  2. Experience in teacher education
  3. Expertise and experience in K-12 teaching
  4. A strong commitment to the mission and values of a Christian liberal arts institution and a desire to integrate faith with learning in all areas of life
  5. Strong familiarity with CAEP and state licensing standards
  6. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders and partners

 

Status: Full Time; Exempt
