Salary Range: $71,481- $89,350

  

Essential Functions and Objectives:

 

Responsible for maintaining the operational and transactional responsibilities of the department. Manages the coordination of day to day activities of a specific business function. Primary emphasis is achieving results by building engagement and empowering their teams. May have exposure for district wide initiatives.

 

Responsible for driving the vision and delivery of annual federal, state, and internal accountability systems, including the School Performance Framework (SPF), Unified Improvement Plans (UIPs), transcripts and course codes.

 

Manage and work with respective teams to implement policies, procedures, programs and initiatives that pertain to their functional unit. Set clear goals, organize work plans, and divide work accordingly. Assure adherence to daily operational items, such as budgets, schedules, and performance.

Apply managerial thinking and decision making to deliver results and ensure project/team success. Provides leadership to teams in their area of responsibility.

– Solve for problems, including defining, tackling and mitigating issues or situations. Map or assess situations, formulate options and provide guidance within a defined latitude.

Establish targets, analyze performance and follow up to ensure achievement plan is attainable.

Analyze past trends, identify gaps, and understand district to provide recommendations.

Work on issues that require thorough analysis; apply discretion for decisions that could impact short term goals. Uses set guidance, policies and procedures to make decisions and address operational challenges.

Collaborate with other functions, peers and teams. Gain credibility and cooperation across the organization. Convey progress and goal results with functional areas. Conduct trainings, present findings & materials and other deliverables.

Improves team performance through coaching, feedback and mentoring. Entrust and motivate direct reports by providing direction, and facilitate skill building.

 Assist the Director of Reporting & Accountability in supporting accountability initiatives within the district in terms of design, data gathering, analysis, and reporting. Collaborate with District and Division leaders to support processes to identify key questions, develop recommendations and rationale, and inform and provide relevant data to support policy decision-making processes. Support process development and implementation of appropriate measures of school performance at the district and stakeholder levels. Inform the Executive Director and Director regarding changes in legislation, and decisions that impact the state school performance framework (SPF) and the implications around the Accountability Clock, School Reviews, Request to Reconsider, etc.

Lead the development, execution, and refinement of district school accountability systems, processes, and tools. Lead a team in the communication of the annual school performance framework, the primary tool used to accredit and evaluate schools in the district. This includes decisions related to displaying district-level information to engage in quality policy decisions.

Build and maintain strong relationships with the Colorado Department of Education and accountability partners to understand state and federal accountability requirements. Build District and school capacity around local, state, and federal accountability measures through direct collaboration with other district departments. Collaborate with District departments to support district leadership, network staff, and school leadership regarding the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Unified Improvement Plans (UIPs).

Lead specialists who work directly with schools to develop, implement, communicate, and train staff on policies and consistent processes and procedures regarding transcripts, records, and scheduling to ensure students are on track to graduate and fully understand graduation requirements. Direct the work of the School Support Team (Transcripts) and provide direct feedback to district leadership on grading and course policy that impacts student transcripts and grades.

Ensure all District high schools are supported with all aspects of transcript work, including credit attainment, scheduling, and graduation requirements support. Support the design and maintenance of integrated systems and processes that drive ongoing improvement in District progress monitoring tools to ensure students graduate college and career ready. Build and maintain positive relationships with Career and College Success, Culturally Sustaining Curriculum & Instruction, Department of Technology Services, and the Schools Division and ensure leadership is well supported in all data needs, effective systems for providing data, and data interpretation.

Ensure systems and processes are in place to manage communications and updates to schools and central office staff regarding policy and procedure changes, important dates, and timelines to ensure streamlined transcript entry and accurate records for use in District reporting and accountability systems.

 

 

Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:

 

5+ Experience with K-12 education, 9-12 is preferred.

3+ Management experience.

Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.

– Strong organizational and analytic skills and strong attention to detail.

Self-starter/leader who can anticipate department needs in a proactive (versus, reactive) manner.

– Ability to develop and interpret data and manage resources.

Ability to motivate and influence others.

– Ability to effectively lead a team.

Demonstrated proficiency with Google Workspace. 

Ability to multi-task and juggle management of several high-priority projects in parallel.

High degree of integrity in handling confidential information.

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including the ability to lead a high-performing team.

Extensive knowledge of high school transcripts, grading, scheduling, the School Performance Framework, and Unified Improvement Plans is preferred.

 

Education Requirements:


–  Bachelor’s Degree in Education is required. 

–  Master’s Degree in Education is preferred.

The Assessment, Reporting & Data Department (AR&D) provides expertise and guidance in the collection, analysis, and communication of academic results to teachers, district leadership, families, and the community.
